It was a cool-ish day but the atmosphere was warm and welcoming for the Spring Fair on Saturday 17 October. Visitors from as far as Beauty Point and Tilba as well as the local crowd enjoyed a delicious lunch courtesy of Quaama Quisine. The QPA made a tidy profit of over $600 overall for the day – money that goes straight back to the Quaama community.
Due to popular demand, Quaama Quisine will make take-away available at the next fair in autumn.
Congratulations to Fiona Drum, who won the Orange and Yellow-themed Cooking Competition for her preserved lemons and lemon butter.
The Mallacoota band The Awesome played sets of all-time favourites and original songs all day, interspersed with talks by the firies, the SES and author Isobel Blackthorn.
Market stalls offered goods from near and far. The presence of the Swell Coffee van was a hit. I stayed much longer than I intended (maybe it was the coffee), and trundled off home feeling lucky (again) to live in Quaama.
