WHEN: Tuesday 30th January

The Cobargo and district Seed Savers is in full swing again in 2018 with our first gathering on Tuesday 30th January.
|Everyone is welcome and definitely no experience is needed! BYO some nibbles to share for morning tea. Coffee and tea is provided.|
If you haven’t been to a seed savers gathering before, or are new to the neighbourhood and just curious … come along and find out how you can save seeds for yourself, for our community seedbank, and to help support our local food security, over a cuppa and with some good company!
Some of the most delicious summer veggies from your garden will have already gone to seed, so why not bring them along and we can help you to save the seeds for planting again or sharing with your friends and neighbours.
Make sure you pick your best plant for seedsaving, that the seeds are mature (this means they will generally have turned a darker/browner colour), and that you have left them to hang in a well-ventilated, protected area for a couple of weeks or more until the seeds feel completely dry (you might need to put a paper bag or pillow case over the plant while it’s drying to catch any seeds that drop off).
(Note: if you’ve volunteered to help with the printing and are bringing a computer along, please arrive for a 9.45am start to get everything up and running ahead of time.)
