WHEN: Tuesday 26th June
TIME: 10.00am – 12 noon
WHERE: River and Tam’s place, 18 Blackbutt Dr, Cobargo (off Charlotte St, opposite Cobargo preschool)
Thought there was nothing for seedies to do over the colder Winter months? Well, think again!! We have a really interesting line up next Tuesday with a visit from the Bega Valley Seed Savers on a road trip with seed-savers trailer in tow, so that we can help out with the annual audit of our local seedbank. We will help organise our seed supplies for the next growing season, mix individual seeds (where possible) to increase genetic stability, and find out what varieties we need to grow to stock up the seedbank over the coming year. PLUS ….
Nellie from Bega Valley Seed Savers will also be showing us how to make paper pots for transporting plants and seedlings, or for sowing plants directly into the garden. Please bring with you newspapers (ideally broadsheet rather than the smaller tabloid – if you still have a supply of these!) and plastic jars (to use as moulds).
Everyone is welcome. Coffee and tea will be provided. Please BYO a chair and a small plate to share around at morning tea if you feel like it – we’ll love you for it!!
(Note: for anyone going to the Soil Testing Workshop in Bega on 27th July, you can also drop off your soil sample/s and payment to Liz at our gathering next week.)
Hope to see you there.
