Excerpt rom the Cobargo Folk Festival website …
The festival started out as a celebration of folk music and folk culture in Cobargo Village. Numbers attending the festival have grown steadily from those early years and in 2004 the festival moved to the Cobargo Showground.
This year we’ll be holding a pre-festival happening in Cobargo on Saturday 18 February, featuring DEN HANRAHAN AND THE RUMRUNNERS, at the Cobargo Hotel that night. Everyone is welcome and it’s FREE.
This year we also have our first Festival Fringe Event: the premiere of Max Cullen’s and Warren Fahey’s new show “Dead Man Laughing”, a conversation between two iconic Australia funny men, Roy Rene and Lenny Lower.
Dead Men Laughing follows the hugely successful Dead Men Talking, which toured Australia to great acclaim. This is a one-off concert at the Cobargo School of Arts on Thursday 23 February. It is separately ticketed ($30) and tickets can be purchased at deadmenlaughing-cobargo.floktu.com/
